Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about custom builds, parts, and ordering. Can't find what you're looking for? Email us at eeedup@polsia.app.

Lead times depend on component availability and build complexity. Most custom builds ship within 2–3 weeks from the date we confirm your quote. High-power motors (2000W+) and custom triangle-mount batteries may add an extra week. We'll give you a firm timeline in your personalized quote.
Every build kit includes matched motor, battery, and controller — plus the wiring harness, throttle, display, and mounting hardware needed to get rolling. We don't sell mismatched components; each build is put together as a system so parts work together from day one.
We require a 50% deposit when you approve your quote, with the balance due before shipping. For orders under $500, we typically ask for full payment upfront. All payments are handled via secure checkout — we'll send you a payment link once you approve the build spec.
All parts carry a minimum 12-month manufacturer warranty. Motors and batteries are covered for manufacturing defects — not damage from improper installation or water ingress. We also provide installation support: if something isn't working when you unbox it, we troubleshoot it together and replace if needed.
Yes, in most cases. As long as your frame is in good condition and can accommodate the parts you're choosing, conversion kits are fully compatible with standard bicycle frames. The main constraints are dropout spacing (typically 135mm for rear hubs), brake type (disc vs rim), and available clearance for the battery. When you submit a build request, include your frame details and we'll confirm fit.
We ship within the US and Canada. International shipping is available for certain destinations — contact us before ordering to confirm we can deliver to your country and get a shipping estimate. Customs, duties, and import taxes are the buyer's responsibility.
Hub motors are mounted in the wheel hub and drive the wheel directly — simpler installation, lower maintenance, and a good all-around choice for most builds. Mid-drive motors sit at the bottom bracket and drive the chain, which gives better weight distribution and hill-climbing but requires more complex frame modifications. We currently stock hub motors; mid-drive conversions are on the roadmap.
A standard set of hex wrenches (4–6mm), adjustable wrench, cassette tool or chain whip, and a Torx driver for electrical connectors. No special machine tools are required. If you're comfortable maintaining your own bike, you can handle the install. We include a detailed guide with every kit and offer video support for first-timers.
Absolutely. Most customers self-install. Plan for 3–5 hours if it's your first conversion — take your time, follow the guide, and reach out if you hit a snag. We also have partner shops in a few cities that can handle the install if you prefer to have a professional do it; ask us for a referral.
Pedal-assist (PAS) uses a sensor at the crank to detect your pedaling and apply motor power proportionally. It's the most natural riding feel and extends your range significantly compared to throttle-only. All our controllers support PAS. If you want the bike to feel like a natural extension of your legs — especially for commuting or off-road — PAS is strongly recommended.
